While I am no expert at online dating, I have had many, many dates. Some have led to relationships, but nothing permanent (it will happen one day). For those who are struggling at getting a date, I have developed my ‘Do’s and Don’ts of online dating. After reading my list, I do hope it can help at least one person get offline and go on a date.
Do: Be consistent.
Don’t: Get online once a week and expect a miracle.
Do: Have at least one full body picture.
Don’t: Have a picture from 10 years ago (unless it still looks like you).
Do: Move relatively quickly to get to know the person offline.
Don’t: Be an email buddy.
Do: Be positive. 😊
Don’t: Send nasty messages.
Do: Be persistence.
Don’t: Get offline out of frustration (even if it is month 11).
Do: Know that many people on the site are there “to see what is going on.”
Don’t: Assume everyone there is looking for a relationship.
Do: Realize that a photo and a blurb does not tell a full story.
Don’t: Be afraid to give someone a second chance (after all, we all have off days).
Do: Be honest.
Don’t: Expect honesty if you were not.
Do: Remember to remove the auto-renewal feature after you pay.
Don’t: Be upset because you were charged again (see above).
Do: Know the right person is out there for you.
Don’t: Give up.
What do you believe is a must ‘do’ in order to get off of online dating? What to you believe you should definitely not do when online dating? Is there anything in my list you would change?
