Halloween is a time where people dress up and pretend to look like someone/something they are not. This usually is a fun time of the year with costumes, parties and good old times. Unfortunately, there are people on dating sites who look like someone other than their photo which is ultimately discovered when meeting in person.
This reminds me of a date from the past. In my conversations with this individual, he went on and on about how he cannot stand women who do not look like their photo. He told me how he previously met someone in person who had to identify herself to him when they were near each other on their first date because she did not look like her photo. Once he learned who she was, he walked away without saying goodbye (clue #1 he is someone I should avoid).
Before we met, he was adamant that he looked like his photo. I was adamant as well that I looked like mine.
Fast forward to our first date. As I was stepping on the curb in front of the store, a guy suddenly pops up out of a patio chair and greets me by name. Initially, my mind said, “Who is this?” which was really a dumb question because I was there to meet my date. Unfortunately, he did not look exactly like his photo so I did not recognize him initially. He then asked me did he look like his picture, and I had to be honest and say “I didn’t recognize you.”
With Halloween around the corner, be safe out there and hopefully you won’t run into someone who isn’t quite the individual he/she claims to be.
Has this ever happened to you? If so, how often do you meet someone who does not look like their photo? Have you been told you do not look like your photo? If so, did you update your profile afterwards?
